My dad had a stroke in his early 60s that left him partially paralyzed. He later had another stroke that killed him. That had a big impact on my life, and since then I’ve been interested in stroke research, and medical advancements in that field.

Neurostimulation in particular is proving beneficial to stroke victims, and I spoke to Nexeon CEO and neurotechnology expert Will Rosellini and Director of Clinical Research Navid Khodaparast about how it’s helping enhance stroke rehabilitation, and its future potential for augmenting healthy brains.

Dallas, TX -- Nexeon MedSystems (OTCQB: “NXNN”) today announced that it has been awarded a two-year, Phase II Small Business Research Innovation (SBIR) grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Company recently completed the Phase I FastTrack research plan associated with this proprietary system. The Phase II grant was awarded due to successful completion of corresponding Phase I milestones, and it will fund up to $600,000 of critical preclinical research and process development activities, including the completion of a pre-IDE meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Microtransponder, Inc., Corporation just submitted form D announcing $6.00 million debt financing. This is a new filing. Microtransponder was able to fundraise $5.53 million. That is 92.10 % of the round of financing. The total offering amount was $6.00 million. The offering form was filed on 2017-06-30. The reason for the financing was: unspecified. The fundraising still has about $474,024 more and is not closed yet. We have to wait more to see if the offering will be fully taken.
